Max For Live (M4L) allows you to design your own tools for music and multimedia production, and the Max for Live Hack Night brings users together in one place to create and learn from each other. With the intention of developing a community around sharing and creating new custom-made devices and ideas, The M4L Hack Night is for anyone interested in building their own instruments, interfaces, or performance systems.

At the beginning of the evening attendees will be presented with a new Max For Live device to create, a problem to solve, a challenge to explore. Hackers will be grouped into teams of diverse skill levels to create, collaborate and share ideas. For new M4L users, "getting started" tutorials will be available. At the end of the evening, each team will share their M4L devices, providing everyone with new tools and ideas to take home and use. Both new and experienced users are encouraged to come. If you have never worked with Max For Live it is highly encouraged to do some homework before the event. Make sure to bring your laptop, and local food and drinks will be available for purchase.

The Max for Live Hack Night was created by multimedia artist, guitarist, composer Christopher Willits  and Overlap + Cullen Miller- San Francisco-based sound artist and composer and the organization he helps to direct, GAFFTA. + Special help from Neal Riley.
